Ensure Safety. Guarantee Compliance. Trust Nextgen.

At Nextgen, we deliver a comprehensive, compliance-led inspection and testing service for all types of rope access (abseil) systems. Whether you're managing abseil eyebolts, rails, or davit arm setups, our tailored inspection solutions are designed to minimise downtime, maximise safety, and keep your systems fully operational and legally compliant.

Our services form part of a structured Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) or Periodic Inspection regime, ensuring your rope access equipment remains in peak condition year-round.

What We Inspect

We carry out full inspection and testing of the following anchorage systems:

  • Abseil Eyebolts

Typically installed in pairs to accommodate both a working rope and a backup line, eyebolts are tested in line with LOLER 1998 and BS EN 7883 to ensure safety and structural integrity.

  • Abseil Rails

Equipped with mobile carriages for horizontal movement, abseil rails support both working and safety ropes. Nextgen tests both the rail and carriage systems according to LOLER and BS EN 7883, ensuring smooth, secure operation.

  • Abseil Davits & Sockets

Perfect for areas with parapets or glazed barriers, davit arm systems allow safe descent where space or access is restricted. Fixed sockets and removable davits are thoroughly tested, including proof load testing where fixings are concealed.

Compliance You Can Rely On

Where systems are installed in accordance with BS 8610:2017, a bi- annual inspection is required to meet the recommendations set out in BS 7985:2013 – Code of Practice for the Use of Rope Access Methods for Industrial Purposes.

Under the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) 1998, rope access systems used to lift people must undergo a thorough examination every six months by a competent person. These inspections assess all safety-critical components, and may include wear measurements, non- destructive testing (NDT), and load testing as required.

As the duty holder, you're legally responsible for ensuring these inspections are carried out, documented, and retained. Nextgen can handle this entire process on your behalf, providing detailed reporting and complete peace of mind.

Stay safe, stay compliant—with one of the UK’s most trusted names in rope access inspection.
