These questions, whilst technically the same are eventually asked by anyone who uses Fall Arrest / Fall Restraint equipment when ‘working at height’ and there are always two answers depending on who you talk to.
This is a great question, there are basically two parts to consider: -
First, did you know your Safety Harness has a “Life Span”?
The manufacturer of your particular Safety Harness will dictate when you should no longer use it.
Second, you need to know the Condition of your Safety Harness.
No matter how long the manufacturer says your Harness is suitable for, they cannot predict how it is used, treated or looked after.
Things can get damaged… it happens, this is where the Regulations kick in to help keep everyone safe.
